You do what? Hope Dreamer has to do them? Or you do do them at school? I doubt it's the latter since this is degree-level material.

Scholarcs- I'm on a Computer Engineering Degree.....some of that stuff is part of the Engineering Maths subject and some of them part of the Control Systems Engineering...main thing is any engineering course involves a bitch-load of maths....if you are good at maths you will have a great advantage in them.

I'm assuming you do mechanical maths though Vaskez. I do Economics so the Maths I do is pretty stats based. Therefore - a lot easier. I could never understand Mechanics at the best of times, as for degree level... good luck!

But I still recognised most of the stuff in that list. Is some of that in the A level Further Maths syllabus? I am assuming you did Further Maths as otherwise Engineering is just plain suicidal.

Hmm I did Pure Maths, which is advanced maths without the mechanics part at A level. So it's in between normal Maths A level and Further Maths and we didn't cover any of the things on that list, althoug much of the stuff I did in the first year was revision for me...the 2nd year is mostly new stuff. You're right, it IS suicidal, I'm killing myself learning all this stuff....root locus, nyquist etc...that was in an exam which I've just finished...didn't go too badly thanks for asking the Laplace etc. will be in Engineering maths exam next Tuesday....I think I've got a pretty good grasp of it....

Oh someone already figured it out. You know i'm extremely jealous of all you math geniuses! Math just doesn't come easy for me. At least non easy stuff like the quadratic formula...

Everone is entitled to their own opinion, I just don't have to listen.

I hope you didn't mean that anyone is doing simultaneous equations for A-level, cos I thought that was normally taught much earlier.

Yep I know. We were referring to the really big ones with lots variables. The ones that require knowledge of Matrices and the like to even begin to understand how to work out. I wouldn't have a clue if I tried one now but I used to have to do them a lot. And god was it painful...

LMAO no offense, but just from that message it doesn't sound like you've done those. For a start Laplace is in fact very easy because you just use a bit of partial fractions then apply standard formulae....it's Euler anyway I haven't "done" Euler, but I've used his formula

LOL I've got bad news for you mate. You really should be able to apply the quadratic formula in any situation (find complex roots, poles, zeros for transfer functions) in your sleep. It's one of the most important equations ever.
