TL's NBA playoffs prognostication for years 2003-2013:

All games will consist of lots of offense and shooting, no defense, and a lot less intrigue, excitement, and clutch plays than the NCAA tournament, mens or womens.

Millionaires just aren't as easy to motivate as kids still chasing the carrot.

Let me add some more startling predictions TL. The ball will be round. There will be guys in black and white shirts who think they control the game. The fans will blame at least one loss on favortism by the refs. Shooters will commit the foul known on the books as traveling and yet nobody will seem to see it. Somebody from the East will play somebody from the West. Mark Cuban will whine and be fined. If the Mavs make the finals my sons will force me to watch a game.

Portland is now down 2-0. Too bad, i kinda hoped they would go a long way this year. Watching Rasheed Wallace is entertaining, you never know what's gonna happen. The guy is a walking timebomb.

More and more people, tired of the thuggery in the NBA, will switch to watching the NHL.

As if there are only "good and nice" people in the NHL. I know, for example, that Scottie Pippen has been arrested once, for having a shotgun in the back of his trunk. But do you think THAT'S on my mind when i watch him play ? Or when i see Iverson play, all i can think of is a shooting incident that he and a friend got involved in ?

No way, i just enjoy watching them play. I don't care what they do in their own time. I judge them by their actions on the court, not off the court.

Besides, the NHL season is over when the NBA finals begin, so it would be a little hard switching to hockey.

If they ever find a way to make a bodycheck look as esthetic as a perfectly executed turnaround jumper, I might be tempted to become one of those people.

If they ever find a way to make a three pointer look as good as a deke on a break away, inform me.

Erm, not to say defensive plays can be pretty, some interceptions are pretty cool to watch.

Hm, I get the feeling that I ruffled someone's feathers - and that someone is young and passionate about hockey ...

Anyway, what better news can one get when one wakes up, surfs to nba.com, and finds out that the Lakers lost game 3 in overtime ?

Timberwolves lead the series 2-1. Too bad the first round is now also a best of seven series, otherwise we'd be one game away from Laker elimination.
