I see by some of the recent threads that there are more than a few of us techies here. Now is your chance to brag about your beloved system. Post your specs and any other interesting info about your computer (like how you got it, funny stories, etc.) Here's mine.

Name: Floyd - for Prof. Frink's robot from the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode with the matter transporter, "Nice try Floyd but scrubbing is what you were designed for and scrubbing is what you shall do."
Processor: AMD Athlon 1.47 gig - overclocked to 1.61.
Mainboard: Abit KR7A RAID
Memory: 512 mb Crucial 2100 DDR
Hard Drive: 2 Maxtor 40 gig drives in RAID0 array, with a 40 gig external Western Digital for backups.
CD Drives: Acer 56x CD, Pioneer DVD, LiteOn 32x12x40 CDRW
Vid Card: GF3 Ti200 with 128 mb DDR - time to upgrade but I need to get back to work first.
Sound Card: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.
Speakers: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
Monitor: 19" ViewSonic GS790
Case: Antec SX1240
OS: Windows XP Pro
Internet Connection: Verizon Online DSL on a 4 comp home network.

My first attempt at a comp build. Built it back in February for around $1800. Rock stable, I leave it on 24/7 with no problems. Fast as hell too. Easily outperforms a 2 gig Pentium.

I home build all my systems, and I usually move parts from the older ones to cut costs as I move up so the capital costs don't hit me all at once. My current configuration:

Mobo: ECS K7S5A (for quite a while this 'board held the speed crown for the AMD chipsets)
CPU: AMD Athlon Thunderbird; 1.2 Ghz (planning on upping this to an XP 1800+)
Memory: 256mb DDR
Video: MSI GeForce2 MX400 64mb DDR (yeah, I know - but it works great! Next ones gonna be a G4Ti)
Sound: built-in on mobo (SiS 7012 chipset); CyberAcoustic 4100 speakers (VG!)
Network: D-Link DE-528CT (also has network support built-in, currently unused)
Monitor: 15" Daytek (I have a 21" Sony coming)
CDROM: 52x IDE busmastering (white box, brandname unknown)
SCSI Adapter: Adaptec 2930U
CD-R/RW: Yamaha 6416S
DVD: Panasonic DVD-303R
Scanner: HP Scanjet 5P
Printer: Lexmark 3200 (I don't do a lot of printing at home)
Modem: Samsung SCM-100R

plus the usual 300W tower case, PS/2 accessories, etc

My last system was built around an Asus mobo, which has a lot of good rep but I wasn't impressed with it, and I had two bad ones in a row; the first time I've *ever* had a bad mobo!
