I'm thinking of starting a wizard slayer..whats the best weapon(s) to specialize in?? And being a wizard slayer, is it worth the tradeoff cause i won't be able to wear magical stuff besides weapons/armors?

I don't like the wizard slayer at all. The berserker is a far better kit in my opinion (actually, it's the only fighter kit I'm fond of). It's just not worth that extra pittance of magic resistance to not be able to use things like the ring of gaxx and the cloak of cheating. I specialise in two-handed swords; there are a lot of good two-handed swords in the game. If I was going to start another character and specialise in something else, I'd go with katanas and shieldfighting; the celestial fury +3 is priceless. I've found magical longswords to be abundant, but unfortunately relatively mediocre.
Of course, perhaps you want to specialise in ranged weapons; in that case go with long bows or short bows, there aren't many good crossbows in the game (in fact there aren't many crossbows in the game, period).
In any case, good luck.

I'm playing a wizardslayer atm and kinda likes her... only setback, at least in the early stages, is that she cannot drink potions. Losing rings and girdles etc isn't that bad really. I've still to find out how resistant she gets at higher levels, but I think the class is well worth to try out.

Hmm, I like to have a character fighting with two weapons, Drizzt fan as I am, due to the lack of really cool longswords, bastard swords two handswords would probably go best with your character or shorswords since there are alot of good shortswords with specialabilities like cast silens 15 feet radiuos, not good in damage but you can have up to 4 swords ready this way, a killer-one in your offhand and the specials to toggle with your mainhand . Personally I´ve come to like the axes in the game, I like them so much I have a Undead hunter Paladin (got tired of leveldrains and such) with two weapon fighting proficent in longswords and axes..

Please keep me informed how your character developes, I have been intrigued in playing a Kensai but alot of people says its an unwise decision.

IMO dont specialise in long bow, short bows are must better, as for x-bows, there are a lot more decent x-bows in bg2 than was in bg1, however as i've only come across 2 npcs with slots in x-bow (keldorn has 2, jan has 1) it's not needed, (keldorn is'nt a shooter with his low dex, and you might as well just use jan's x-bow until you get a slot to stick into short bow)...short bows are the way to go!!

If you want short-bow capability, just take Mazzy out.
Haven't used her much (I tend to get stuck in with swords etc) but she's got a real kick-ass rating with the bow.

Ta Ma Da Ran Lu,
In my opinion Wizard Slayer is definetly worth playing despite his disability to drink magic potions (it's a pain although) and wear magic items.
My Wizard Slayer specialized in Long Bow and Bastard Sword (and I can say that those bastard swords were a wrong choice ). I think for this class would be nice to use ranged weapons (bows, long or short) and Long Swords. Sword with vampire ability is helpful since this character can not use healing potions.

i prefer 2 handed swords oveer all the rest as far as melee weapons are concered. Not many other swords or maces ect., can deal out equivalent damage.

I think the best rage weapon ive seen is really the Sling of Seeking. While its true that it only +2 to hit and +2 damage you also get your strength bunus. NO other missle weapon allows that. So in the hands of a character with a strength of 18 to 18/00 you can really dish out some serious damage.

Depends on your play style.

Total power (wackin the mole with a nuke in other words )
Want the best damage? Go for 5 spec in war hammer, 3 in duel weld, and 5 in flail. Why flail over katana? Slow. The Clestial Furry is nice, but it's extra abilities are not guarantied to go off all the time. Flail of ages will slow the critter every time you hit with it. Slow an opponet, you take less damage (they swing slower), the slowed can't cast as fast, can't react as fast, etc... The only way to counter it is with free action, and not too many critters have that ability.

Versitility?
Go for long swords or 2 handed swords. There are a lot more of these with diffrent abilities out there.

For a wizard slayer, you might want to go for short swords, as there are a few that will alow you to cast haste and silence, and some that will help with immunity from charm and hold person. I would also pick sling or short bow over long bow (maybe with ToB that will change).

Good luck.
