Difficulty Level and Experience Points

Greetings, adventurers. The might Stormhammer, at your service.
I have just embarked on the Heart of Winter adventure (IWD), and have
noticed significant advantages to playing in the Heart of Fury mode
(insanely difficult, but it provides insane amounts of experience
points for every confrontation). I know there is no Heart of Fury
mode in BG2, but I was wondering if I raise the difficulty level,
will it substantially change the amount of experience points acquired
from battle--and, I was wondering if there are any drawbacks to
changing the difficulty level before completing the game (any
penalties, etc.). Best wishes! SH

I don't think that it changes the amount of xp (but if you play at easy, it will). But , it makes the AD&D rules more affective, like the % to learn a spell or to resurrect someone. Maybe there are more, but maybe someone else could tell.

No, it doesn't. If you check the screen where it has the difficulty setting, and click on it, it tells you that setting the difficulty low lowers your exp points, but that setting it high does not increase exp points. Sad

Which was a shame. No benefit to playing difficult apart from the mere challenge .
