I have to have some GCSE coursework in soon, in the form of two recorded peices, one solo and one ensemble and a peice i have composed myself.
I am fine with the idea of composing a peice myself, and i think we have the ensemble peice figured out but I am unsure what to do for my solo peice.
I play the cornet and also the guitar, but i have not played it for very long so playing a guitar peice is out of the question as it has to be of Levels 4-5, my question is how hard are cornet or trumpet peices at these levels?
I have been playing a long time but I never had a 'proper' teacher.
Thanks for any feedback,
Felix

For my solo I did some dodgy keyboard version of 'Menuet' and got 65%. I'm going to do either 'Mountain Dance' or 'Summer Song' if I can learn it in time.

As for the cornet/guitar thing, I don't have a clue! I'm only Grade 2 on the Piano.

All I've said is that I'm rubbish on the piano! I can't see how that could help!

But if it does, you're welcome!

Grade 8? WOW!

Well, me and two of my friends are thinking of recording 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White' with our instruments, which is Piano for me, and Bass Guitar and Drums for them.

It would sound good. The GCSE group has got Bach's 'Bourée' recorded as a back up incase we don't do any other ensembles. But all of us have got our next one planned!

We all get excited at the prospect of performance!
