Gauntlet-running got boring, so the peasants decided to head up to Anephas' Shrine to see if they were strong enough to take on the sphinx.

The answer was no, and we also learned a couple of things along the way...

First, the sphinx can make characters insane.

Second, if *EVERYONE* in your party is insane, you can still access the inventory and do things with the last character, whoever that was. So if they've got an exorcism scroll, they can liberate someone else.

Third, the sphinx can also turn characters to stone.

Fourth, if that last character gets turned to stone, you get to simply sit by and watch as the sphinx chews up your party, spits them out, and wanders away to pick the bits of rat flesh out of her mouth.

Fortunately, Forest Lump hadn't left Brimloch Roon yet, and was able to once again raise his sister and her friends from the dead.

Needless to say, that was enough of trying to take on the sphinx

The peasants decided to go back to Skull Castle, and interestingly, the map was *not* updated from their previous deadly visit, where they had been slain by Doshi-Gin. I guess the save-map logic was left out of there.

Doshi-Gin's wolf pack was also back, and was quickly dispatched. This time, however, the peasants didn't use up all their magic...

They were able to eventually pick off the giant, and I realized why he was so deadly... he actually uses poison bombs!

We did discover that if you go back around the corner into the water, he won't follow you. I guess he doesn't like water... and eventually, he was a pile of skin and bones

In other notes, Lightfingers, who's around 7 in lockpicking, was able to open the level 12 lock in the licj's study. With the use of a level 5 lockpick, that is...

Not much else this evening... more later!

It is really great to have the peasants back. I have not been online for the past week or so, so that was a really pleasant surprise to return to. Great chapters.
