Mad

Don't let the word final fool you. This mod can and will be improved upon once certain features of the editor become available.

Please be sure to read the text file included in the mod. It contains the instructions on installing and explains why you cannot just install it over the beta version.

Mainly all the NEW items are completely new. They are not replacing any of the old items from Wiz7 like in the beta. Thwarted the importers!

A new game should be started with the mod installed to gain all the benefits of the mod. If you decide to uninstall this mod, you will need to delete or retire all save games that were created while using the mod. Your game will crash if you attempt to load those saves without the mod installed.

This mod contains an extra folder. There are several new graphics for the game contained in that ITEMS folder. You will need this folder installed in order to play the mod.

The text file contains non-spoiler information for many things. A spoiler will not be published at this time. The beta items are still here and more new items, alchemy recipes, and gadgets have been introduced.

Please post any comments, critisms, or suggestions in this thread.

I tried to act on as many suggestions as possible but a few probably slipped my mind, so please feel free to reiterate them here.

Available on the mod news page, (link in the main menu):

Enjoy, Merry Christmas!

PS: Ask for hints here, if you want total spoilers please email me

There were a series of updates that followed the release correcting a few problems and adding a few new items and some new graphics.

A FlameFinalMod-version2 is now available for download which encompasses the version1 release and all successive updates with a few new things added and a gift for the New Year for a New party.

Happy New Year.

An Items.dbs download only is available to correct a profession error on one of the new staff weapons. Simply download it and copy the Items.dbs over the existing file in the Databases folder for this correction to take effect. It does not involve starting over and the correction should take effect even if the item is in the party's possession.

Thanks for taking the time to make this.

Is there a way to find if the mod was installed successfully? I put version 1 in and got the unidentified potion in the starter chest, but when I put version 2, there is no potion, but the graphics are different.

Hmm. Well, if you installed version 2 you should have started a new game in order to get the items placed in map locations and there are two in the Lower Monastery. If you did start a new game remember all the items in the Starter Chest are random so its likely that's why the potion didn't show up.

Edit: There is also an update available where two files need to be placed in the Databases folder overwriting the old ones. It corrects a couple minor details I missed.

okay duh, I guess I do have the mod installed (found a "?" lying around in a hallway).

For some reason I though you replaced the note in the starter chest with something and when I started version 1, I got a funky potion and assumed that was it.

Thanks again.

I'm playing version 2 and having a blast! I was just wondering if you'd somehow altered the locations where certain monsters appear, because I just ran into a hogar outside Marten's Bluff, and I don't think I've ever seen one there before! Guess I was lucky it wasn't joined by any of those Helligators! Anyway, I was just curious if this was one of the things that was modified because it kind of made me jump!

Happy New Year All!!!

@Sinteuil

No I did not alter monsters at all. The editor is supposed to able to work with the monster data but it is not tested as yet so I did not use it. I have run in to hogars there in one or two games. They are rare there but they can pop up.

Just posted another update today adding some new things. Mostly new ammo from ideas sent to me by folks playing the mod. The ammo is in vendor inventory and can show up as early as the next restock. I wasn't sure how it would work initially but after spending some time in the game finally I got a bit of all the new ammo added today.

If by any chance you have missed any updates and are experiencing any problems with the mod try downloading the full version2 again and installing it. I always update the mod files if not the readme texts in that zip so it contains all corrections and updates made as of today.

Okay, I'm just going to request a hint! I'm playing with all four pure casters and one rogue for protection (although I'm beginning to really miss a gadgeteer with all these new items I'm finding!). Anyway, I've gotten my pure casters three of possibly four special staffs for them, and they're very happy. But my psionic is feeling left out because we haven't found a special staff for him and he's acting all spoiled and complaining that the staff of doom won't cut it anymore, not to mention that he's died more than any character I've ever played! LOL! Anyway, am I right in assuming we'll find a special psionic staff? We've been most everywhere except Bayjin Shallows, Sea Caves, the crypt where you get Diamond Eyes, and the Rapax areas. Do I need to go sige-hunting, or will the staff turn up if I just move on with the game as usual? Also, I can't resist asking: is all this wasp nectar I'm collecting useful for anything? Just a gentle hint here would be much appreciated! And thank you so much for all these new items!!!
