How do I configure it so that forums like Ironworks are still allowed to have these pics from outside servers? Like I hoped it was possible to do it all at once so I don't have to add every topic to the list as that kills the use of it. Anyone found out how?

According you are running the newest version
Tools, Options, Web Features
Then check the box Load Images and don't check the box for the originating website only.
I think that will work

Nope that's not what I want. I want to block the pictures from a game I play online which has a lot of ads and some other sites looked great as well without pictures. So I wanted to know how I can set it so that forums (every thread has it's own link) aren't targeted at all, not that I have to add every topic to the safe list.

I also use Firefox, but I use zonealarm next to it to block images on webpages I don't want to see. You might want to try it out.

Try your exceptions list, maybe. Failing that, there are extensions that let you show all images on a page.

I'm using linux so zonealarm is a no go. IIRC it also crashed my single player games cause a server had started so I'd rather not try that again.

I know I have to use the exceptions list but I wanted to know if anyone had a way so I don't have to add every topic to the exceptions list cause every topic has another link.

Try adding www.ironworksforum.com to the exceptions list. This might not work if it wants to load outside images, though... failing that, try adding the online game to the exceptions list, and tell it to block it but allow everything else.

EDIT: Ok, it doesn't work for images outside of Ironworks. But, all that this blocks is signature pictures anyway... some of which are annoying . I'm looking for an extension now that might help you..

By the way, what version of Firefox are you using?

Ok, here we go:
Image Loader
Image Show-Hide
Image Toolbar
Show Image
All look promising, and Context Menu Extensions could have it.

Well neither of those scripts does what I want. I want to block everything which doesn't originate from the server the site is on (ads!) but make for example Ironworks and other forums an exception to this.
edit: those extensions only allow blocking all or none or load images individually.

Proxomitron isn't available for Linux I don't think, but have you tried looking for something similar? It might also be worth considering a switch to Opera - you can set up customised stylesheets for individual pages I believe which would probably let you do what you wanted. I would imagine that Firefox would offer something similar, but I don't use it so that may be an avenue to explore on the Firefox forums.
