I don't think so... Not sure if I remember correctly but I think the idea that there's an original Celtic "root language" from which the p-branch and the q-branch of Celtic languages sprung is a theory. It's undoubtedly true, but since we have no records of that root language at all it's impossible that Stormy was referring to it: she can't have an idea whatit sounded like.
Anyway, she cleared the matter up already if you look above: as I thought she was referring to language families rather than a true language.

Making a fool out of ourselves again are we Grogbag? It's logical for me to list the city in whose suburb I live, at literally 100 metres away, for all the ignoranant, uneducated people who have never heard of Amstelveen.
And no, it has absolutely no relevance to the discussion. Ga toch koken ofzo.
Ah yes, but technically speaking...

There is some debate as to whether Scots (not Scottish ) is actually a separate language or merely a dialect. For more info on Lallans i.e. the language of Robert Burns and others of that ilk go here. Where I come from (North East Scotland) another dialect called Doric is more prevelant.

Personally speaking, French, Spanish and Portuguese would be my favourites as I tend to prefer the sound of languages that use harsh consonants and the dreaded glottal stop in moderation

You're right of course but.... only when referring to Scots as in Lallans/Doric. It's permitted when you're referring to Scottish Gaelic or Gàidhlig, the one we were talking about as part of the Celtic languages group (and which is definitely a language, not a dialect).

Edit: Having listened to Glaswegian cabdrivers and busdrivers talk among each other, I doubt Scots is either language OR dialect rather than something altogether more alien.

Really there is no such thing as 'Scottish Gaelic'. It's like Tex-Mex.

One of the elvish languages that Tolkien created. !!!

Reasonably, since I am to become a Spanish teacher...I had better say Spanish...right?
