I am not sure. Try to run the setup directly from CD.(Go to My Computer click wirh right mouse button and explore the CD).
I think this should work.

data2.cab is corrupt on your CD. Try polishing the CD to remove any possible dirt and/or scratches from the disk. If it still produces the CRC error, then make a temp folder on the hard disk, and see if you can manually transfer the entire contents of the CD to that folder. If all the files copy ok, then run setup from this folder instead of the CD.

Otherwise, you need a new CD

When did you buy it? Do you still have the receipt? You might be able to change it at the shop where you bought it. If not, then I'm sure Black Isle Studios will send you out another disk if you send them the faulty one.

Right, from the Interplay site,

I am getting CRC error messages while installing.

CRC errors occur when the installer compares the file it just copied to your hard drive to the source on the CD and finds that they are different. There are two possible causes:
Bad CDs. Take your copy of BG2 and try installing it on another computer. If you get CRC errors then you need to get your CDs exchanged for new ones.
Hardware issue. If you are able to install the game on another computer, you most likely have a hardware issue with your system. Refer to the General CD Install Troubleshooting above for other possible solutions.

Here is the url to replace your disks http://www.interplay.com/support/replace.asp

Here, try this. Install the CD on your hard drive, then e-mail me at Cataephract@aol.com, and I will send you the file.
