Capital punishment is all well and good but isnŽt the hard part proving them guilty? DNA tests will solve that surely (YAY go us meds lol ) but still, several prisoners on death row have now been found innocent. Still if someone touched my daughter IŽd give them the injection myself

Yah, we've got a couple of nasty ones up here. Named Paul Bernardo, Clifford Olson.

I wouldn't mind putting a needle in them. What's worse is, since we have MANDATORY parole hearings in twenty five years, three or four years ago Olson, who was convicted of doing pretty damn nasty things to something like 14 kids, got to have another day in court. They think he did this SOLELY to taunt the victims' families. The scary thing is Bernardo gets that in 15 years.

If I were to give them the needle, I'd miss the veins a few times first.

I agree with Jonny's first post. All garbage should be disposed. And then compacted by trash compactors. Criminols don't deserve a good berriel.

I propose a more humane method. Remove the persons brain from their body so that they remain conceouse and are able to think but cannot express any emmotion or feel anything. And if they've been really bad, ice the brain and target the pain sensors with LITTLE bits of elecricity just to bug them for a few hundred years... What do you all think of my idea? we know that we can preserve organs outside of the body! Why not preserve a criminals BRAIN?! And punish it, leave the body for Organ donation so that it can help a life instead of waste money or kill another later I think that my plan needs to be heard and implimented ASAP if we wish to refer to ourselves as a "Human" race any longer...

As for innocents being on The Row, that is why justice should be slow to act. But once it decides a course of action - it should be swift and merciless. Statiscally, it is very difficult for a truely innocent person to be convicted of a capitol crime. Too much circumstantial evidence is needed to prove "beyond reasonable doubt" (I won't go into whether the system is implemented properly or not, or it's corruption) for an innocent to be convicted on coincedence. I think that once your appeals are up, and you loose the 3rd trial - you should be escorted to the execution not 25 yrs of The Row.

That said. Someone I once worked with (I swear on this one! NOT my idea) suggested requiring the harvesting of organs of executionees so that their death for their (presumably) horrible crimes can save life. I think it is an interesting concept - not sure if I buy it.

What d'y'all think?

What really burns me up is when these shits get outta jail after doing that terrible deed...and they are sentenced to be watched over all thier lives...and their neighbors and stuff are supposed to be made aware of it all...yet somehow...SOMEHOW the prick gets away with it a second time.

There is no cure for these sick bastards. They hurt our loved ones, and they will continue to do so, if given the opportunity. Let them either rot in prison without hope of bail or be put out of this world...whichever...I do not care. As long as they are OFF the street!

For all i know there should be a punishment greater than death for a crime such as rape. They should be tortured to near death, healed and then again tortured .... or perhaps they deserve something as humane as death.
