no. you don't NEED anyone.

however, as you may have found out already, she has some interesting relationships within the game.

personally, the Blonde Brigade already has a valk and a monk in our party. yet, we have still taken Vi and RFS to be company to our activities around dominus, cuz ..... well, we just like them!

so, do whatever you like. it is YOUR party after all.

Like Vesselle said, there's no one NPC you absolutely need. That holds true for any other game, too. One of the most frequently heard--and useless--questions is, "Which party is the best?"

It's really all up to you. Consider the strategies you want to employ, and who best fits your needs. Also, think about what characters you simply like the best. You'll win in any case, so why not have the most fun?

If you dont have Vi or RFS with you i think you get more EXP to the remaning characters in your party!

i never take any RPC's into my party unless for a veery short while, to complete quest, get exp and get rid of him(her);
more expierence for remaining characters - faster leveling;
my next party will consist of 4 chars;

you know, guys, i don't think the exp thing is true. they don't take away YOUR exp. everything is rescaled so you get what you would get anyway, and then the rpcs get theirs, too.

linda mentioned it a time or two on the vn boards soon after the game came out, but i'll be darned if i'm gonna go do a manual word search on that search-handicapped board.

Hi Veselle - the word I have seen from the developres is that quet information is not shared (ie 75,000 for Brekek's leg irrespective of number of characters, but monster experience is split between party members. The more you have, and thiat includes NPC's, the less you get per person. Each monster in a group is worth x amount, total them up and divide by the number in your party. This is very definitely the case - got rid of Myles and Vi, and the rewards for the same battles rose.

It's definitely true that the fewer chars in your party the more exp. each one gets. The only times this doesn't happen is for specific quests that give each a set amount of exp. for the quest.

Playing solo garners amazing amounts of experience. Some battles have given over a million points, and regularly in the swamp, a couple of oozites and a few flies at once give her close to 400,000 points. Mighty gratifying, that.
