Your answer would be helpful if I knew where Cambridge was. Nevermind, I like maps

The best thing you can do is to pick up leaflets about various places while you are in Brighton. I'm sure you'll have some help!

So my preferred attire of T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers won't cut it eh?

Nah, already planning on bringing warm clothes, but thanks for the advice anyway. Keep it coming, I might very well overlook something obvious like that. Doh!

Please remember to look to the right, not to the left, when crossing the road.

If you go to Devon & Cornwall and they call you a Grockle or an Emmet that's not a compliment.

There is a nudist beach in Brighton but in this weather it's a bit nippy around the shingles.

If you get to North London be sure to look in here. I'm one of the fixtures.

Brighton pavillion was built by the Prince Regent I believe, and it is brilliant! It is really decorative inside, with chandeliers held from the ceiling by dragons (not real dragons LOL!) and things like that. The funniest thing I ever heard was in the Pavillion - Americans, please don't take offence, I just thought this was really funny and I know it doesn't represent most US citizens!

Tour guide: "And here we have the music room. This room was burnt down in an arson attack in 1977"
US Visitor: "Oh, arson? That was the Iranians was it?"
Tour guide: "er... no... students actually"
US Visitor: "Ah yes, Iranian students..."

I nearly killed myself laughing.
Anyway, you will have a great time in Brighton and other parts of the south, but please remember that:

You will freeze
You will be wet
You will run out of money
You will wonder why the transport system is so bad
You will wonder why people are using the nudist beach when the outside temperature is near freezing taking into account the wind-chill factor
You will wonder why most of the people using the nudist beach have long coats and binoculars

If you bear these things in mind, you will have a great time!

And the other thing is that they will invariably lose your luggage - Gatwick, Heathrow, doesn't matter which.

"Yes, I now that your luggage is important to you sir, but we are a big airport - on average we lose 4 pieces per plane that arrives - don't be alarmed sir, we are very good at finding them within 48 hours."

Isn't that a relief.

Nice pub there Donut - I can just imagine you propping up one end of the bar there, surrounded by a few friends and many empty pint glasses . Oh, and a bit of scary news - I have to shave the moustache off if the mighty Brisbane Lions win the AFL Grand Final - I don't know, the troubles that women cause
