Windows Media Player Virus help
I went on MSN Messenger last week week to try and reach a friend. I usually never use it, but after I did the Windows Media Player popped up. I tried to close it but I can't. I've tried restarting but it still keeps coming up. I'm running my old Norton Anti-virus right now, but it's out of date and I'm not crazy about it anyway.
Does anyone know able this virus and how to best remove it? I have run 2 other

Re: Windows Media Player Virus help
Head to Trendmicro.com and run the house call on-line virus scan. That should help you out.
And get a current virus scanner... I use AVG from www.grisoft.com, and they have a free version.

Re: Windows Media Player Virus help
I was just able to run Adware. It seems to have corrected it, but I will check out that site.
Thanks ..I couldn't even finish the last post due to WMP popping up all the time.

Re: Windows Media Player Virus help
As an alternative to AVG, which tends to uncorrectly block newer programs, try Avast! if AVG gives you trouble.
http://www.avast.com/ Avast! is a superb virus scanner in my experience. And somewheres I heard it was one of two safest. The other being a paid virusscanner.
