Yesterday a terrible, terrible thing happened. Today, as we discuss what happened, tempers begin to flare. Everybody is upset and distressed, so arguments are breaking out everywhere. One forum member has already been banned. I can only say, CALM DOWN EVERYBODY!! I agree that this is a horrible disaster and that we are all shocked, but try to control yourself, okay? Minor arguments are beginning to escalate into full-scale flame wars. Don't kill each other!
Let's act like intelligent beings, not like flamethrowers!
Cool it, people!

Unfortunatly this is what happens in times such as this.
They say all is fare in love and war. I say it sucks...
I lost 13 friends yesterday.

I'm getting tired of all the personal attacks going on here. I wish people could just write their opinions and not get so personal. Why do they feel a counter opinion by someone means that their own is false or simply wrong?

Kaz, you just may be the MOST mature person at GD.

Oh god, I'm so sorry to hear that. You're right, war is unfair. It is the innocent who pay.

Oh God, I am so sorry to hear that!! I don't know what else to say...please hang in there

EDIT: sorry Kaz, said exactly the same thing as you...
I agree with this thread BTW; all that matters to me is that thousands were hurt or killed, and the only thing that is important right now is to prevent more innocents from dying.

I agree with everyone here. There's been a lot of tension and there still is a great feeling of loss, and the only thing we can do about it right now is to stay calm and rational. And of course, offer our condolences. Elif, this whole thing must be harder on you than on many others (including myself, far away in a part of a small country with nothing of interest to terrorists). I just hope you'll get to feel better when time goes by...

EDIT: Glad to hear at least two of your friends there are still alive

This picture has nothing to do with the other part of my sig. It's just cool.

i would certainly like to start a debate about this issue but not now and not here... im too depressed to think about those lives... (even though they are half-way around the world) human life is something unique and to take it away in less than 3 hours...
