I'm back, we just brought him home. He's a little shaky and still complaining of his back (and the loss of his beloved car, which was totaled). We've got him using a walker. Attalus and I went out yesterday to get the stuff out of his car, and you should see it. He was struck from behind by a delivery van,(going "way too fast through town," according to a witness) and it crumpled the whole trunk area to a twisted wreck, but left the passenger compartment intact, and he was wearing his seat belt, thank the Lord. Thank the Lord, too, that my stepson and/or my son weren't in the back seat, as they often are. Please, people, take this as a warning and always wear your seatbelts. I am sure that my dad would be dead without them. Thanks again to all who posted, I am very sure that your prayers helped. (Hugs and kisses)
