I'll just chime in here and say that they grow in New Zealand, too. There're plenty under the ol' pine tree at my house To get rid of the sting, there is a plant called 'Doc Leaf' which apparently works. Usually the effects are gone with an hour, anyway.

Yup we do, but I've never heard of it being useful for itching. I've always used it for sore muscles and it works GREAT for that. Guess I've learned something new

Ziroc, be careful about that immunity, one day it may go away and you will get it as bad or worse as anyone who was not immune. I had a childhood friend that was immune, and we would go to a private beach every year, I would get Poison Ivy, she would not. Then in our late teens, she got it, and worse than I ever had it. But she WAS the same as you, she could roll around in it and not get it.

All this talk about nettles makes me remember a line from Night Watch, the Terry Pratchett book.
"As a child Major Clive had always grasped nettles firmly by the hand, and had often had a hand the size of a small pig"

Since I didn't see anyone mention it by name..Caladryl is my new favortie along with Cort-aide. Caladryl is a Calamine lotion mixed with Benedryl...great for stopping allergic itches.
