I have a P3 at 550 Mhz, dunno what motherboard though (im hardware-ignorant

ok if your using a p3 then chances are you using a BX or VIA appolo chipset, in which case you must be using PC100 SDRAM, so you nbeed to buy a stick of PC100 or PC133 SDRAM (DIMM) unregistered
