I think it's the conjurer. Divination spells are so few and I rarely use them. Do you?

Yes a conjuror,I think a necromancer is underated because he gets cool death spells (finger of death, death curse, wail of a banshee and so on,while a divinatir is probebly one of the worst

I'm a big fan of the Sorcorer myself.

Otherwise 'Enchanter' has a nice ring to it. That plus the interesting requirement of a high charisma makes it an interesting roleplay IMO.

Excluding Sorcerers, I would rate the Necromancer as best if you like pure brute firepower, Conjurers however, are generally considered the best because they only lose two important spells, Identify and True Sight, spells which can be replaced by other spell casters.

Necromancers, lose Misled and Simulacrum. Loss of Mirror Image and Blur is a non-issue to me because I never use them anyway.

However... I think being a Wild Mage would be the best, because they do not lose any spells and besides, their wild surges only occur 5% of the time.

If not a Sorcerer casting total oblivion, then a Cavalier meting out justice. Otherwise, I think I will just be a Blade and torture my enemies with, "My Heart Will Go On".

These are two very useful spells though Dundee. Very handy if your main caster has them.

Anyhow I make my decisions on roleplay aspects. The limitations are part of the fun.

Oh yeah. My choices are influenced by role-play too. I like to think of myself as a power-gamer with role-play bits too.

Although a Conjurer is theorotically more powerful than a Necromancer, I just prefer to have a Necromancer in my current evil party. I miss my Mislead though.

Identify can be easily replaced by a Bard, Thief, Glasses of Idenfication or Scrolls of Identify. True Sight can be casted by a fellow Druid, Cleric, Keldorn or Mage.

I have always liked the conjurer (my first
character from BG1) because the game
is so much easier if you have monsters
attacking your critters instead of YOU.
I always have another mage to handle my
Identify/True Sight/Clairvoyance needs.

The Sorcerer wades through his foes with ease.
