Favorite card game: Egyptian Rat Screw. It's a helluva lot of fun to play with a group of friends (preferably 4+ people). Or you can play one on one, which ends up being a test of your reflexes.

Acey Ducey is a heck of game thats good with 2 or more players. You can win a lot of money in that, or lose it I guess.

Talisman, guillatean, wizwar. Great cutthroat games.
Holdem only works well at high stakes for low money games 7 card stud.

Chess, pinochle, and hearts. I can consistently beat my computer at hearts, it sucks at it. I haven't played pinochle in a long time though. I used to be big into 5 stud. That's poker...

Used to play a lot of bridge in college. It's hard to get exactly 4 players together now.

Board games: Chess, Cathedral, and Carcasonne are my favorites.

Hold 'em. Great fun, especially when you learn how to play properly.

If you're just wanting to get wasted and have a laugh, try some Monopoly...very funny when drunk!

There's a board game here called "airplane" which is more or less like Sorry.

We play Shanghai rules mah jong if we have enough people, otherwise it's crazy eights or 13 card rummy. I don't play "big 2" which pretty much the only game Chinese people seem to know around here.

There's a card game called Dalmuti (published by WotC, I believe) It's basically the same as another card game called "asshole".

If getting drunk is your thing, there's nothing like a game of "quarters" to get you there quick.
