Greetings.

I just wanted to know if anyone could help me; i've been to the boogre prison only once and even then i couldn't complete it. This is because i led the jungle lilies into the shock portal thing then i figured out how to get out, except the thing was that the lilies were still chasing me but they were stuck in the maze and it continually caused my game to jam (my pc ain't that great

I wanted to know if there is a special way of using magic when you are a boogre cos i tried heaps but nothing worked. it just all fizzled.

i was really freaked out about jungle lilies cos the walkthrough said they were HARDER than amazoni's. i just ran from them and i have never tried again...

sniff.....please help

btw, if you enter boogre prison and one of your characters is dead, are they still turned into boogres or can you use an amulet of life later on to bring em back (i'm a stand back and use magic sort of person. i can't cope not being able to use magic...)

cheers,

Moiraine Sedai

Well I don't think they are harder than Amazoni, not that much...
It depents how great is your Sorcery skill, does your spells fizzle.

I went Shuregon Castle and Stout mine before entering into Boogre Prison.
I raised my spell casters Sorsery skill into 5-7 so then it should be able to cast spells.
Try firestorm spell and meteor storm spells into lilies...

When you enter into room where you can open the hacth into Idol of Aku by placing the Evil Eye into slot, just wait those two lilies to come closer and take the Eye of the wall... Hatch closing and lilies getting crushed!

Don't know what to do with lilies near the Worm stick room...
Or if you resurrect your men, I think it still is Boogre until you touch the Idol of Aku...
I went off the prison and entered into town and noticed that I didn't touch the idol by one of my character... BAck to prison tto give that damn idol big hug!

Have you turned off all other unnecessary computer applications... Ctrl-Alt-Del or msconfig.? If you have not already done this it may help to do so by making more memory available.

Well in the boogre prison spells tend to fizzle regardless of sorcery skill. It almost seems it is the level of the spell that matters. High level spells tend to fizzle more often for me inside the prison whereas most low level spells seem to work. Moiraine, try casting flamedrop and burning haze. That sould take care of them. Remember that they move slowly so you are able to hide behind a corner, run out and cast a spell, then retreat to safety once more.

Firstly I'm sorry but I can't help with your computer settings.

I originally entered the Boogre Caves quite early on but as my spells had an alarming tendancy to Fizzle I reloaded a saved game and completed both the Stout Mines and Shuregan Castle before returning. When I re-entered the Boogre Caves I was level 11 (or 12), my Burning Haze and Cure Poison Spells worked OK most of the time however, I also needed lots of mana top-ups.

I also found the Jungle Lilies more difficult than the Amazoni Mantraps, I posted a reply to a thread about the Mantraps yesterday. I have avoided hand to hand combat with both prefering to use spells. Walk in, cast Burning Haze, back off some distance (those Jungle Lilies aren't that slow), cast Cure Poison, watch the damage count and get ready to go in again.

Once cleared the Idol room a good place to loiter as Boogre Witches are frequently re-spawned there and they often carry Ankhs that will give you +1 to one of your stats.

yea it's pretty irritating especailly if your STORM spells fizzles !!! i did boogre prison 1st and hell, i only had 1 expert suncraft character whose most powerful sun spell is.........INCINERATE ! i could only cast it a precious 3 times, and whenever it fizzled i alwasy kept cursing my boogreism...
and i agree wif dave b that those jungle lilies can be as fast as athletes! i ended up running all the way back through the entire prison just to get rid of those stupid lilies....... HOWEVER, i found up a cheap way to kill those lilies automatically.
i lead them into the shock room and just "shocked" my way towards this room. as u all know, you haf to go into the "shock passage" OPPOSITE of where u want to go to in order to reach it right? now what happens if those lilies keep walking TOWARDS me??? yupz, they juz get shocked into the room at the other side, i kept doing this until they were near death n finished them off with a firespell... pretty method eh?

The spell level does matter there at any rate. The higher spell level the higher chance of failure. The following parameters may matter as well:
1. INT
2. Sorcery skill
I don't know. I am always training Sorcery ASAP so that I am always having Sorcery 10 or so in the Boogre Prison. Also, my character is always having INT 21+ there. Results:
1. Level 1 - 4 spells almost never fail.
2. Level 5 spells seldom fail.
3. Level 6 spells fail more often.
4. With level 7 spells, I have about 40% chance of success.

I have a different experience than you, Radek. I almost never train sorcery this early in the game, and while my spells do fizzle occasionally, it's not a real big problem. I also haven't done your excellent research into what fizzles when -- I am always impressed with the things you've done!

One note on leading them into the shocking rooms -- they can indeed die in there, and you get experience only if you've hit them at least once. If they die without you hitting them, you get nothing. If you hit them with sword, spear, or staff early on, or if you throw something as innocent as a flamedrop on them, then when they die you will get XP (providing you're still in the caves). You'll be wandering along when suddenly, you'll get told "the Jungle Lily dies! + 11,500 experience" or something like that.

Same goes for the dark one in anephas' shrine. I've had him killed by closing doors before -- if you hit him at least once, you get XP. You don't hit him, and you get nothing.

the dark one??? hmm........maybe i can keep this in mind when i reach the end.....but the "kill the jungle lilies by smashing them between doors" is a really good method!
