So have they fixed the error that requires some owners of Gothic 3 to use a goddamn no-DVD crack just to play the game, yet? Because that got severely tedious.

Living in the states I guess I lucked out in that
I haven't had any problems except, for a couple of
times when I was suppose to collect 20 firs and
only brought 19 to the guy and was told he needed
20. I then when out to get the last one and the
guy said he needed 20 when I returned wit the last fir.
That ticked me off and so from then on I made sure I
have everything I am required to complete a mission
before I go back to the mission giver for my reward.

So really this Patch is the first for the U.S.
version of the game being that it came patched up
with 1.09 already in the game when we buy it and
they only offer the CD version. So far I haven't
been able to find a DVD version of the game here in
Virginia so, I can't really say they don't offer the
DVD. I haven't had any of the problems or need for
any kind of crack to run the game.
I red the "read me" that was on the Gothic 3 patch site and
the only graphic problem I every had was once the sides
of the mountains turned bright red when I was running
up the trail to go threw the pass but I had just hit F5
for a quick save befor that and reloaded right away and
the red went away.

It really sucks that such a great game was released before
it was ready. I keep reading the trouble boards and see all
the problems everyone in Europe has had since release and for
one I glade the game didn't release here first.

You have no idea how bad it was.

Imagine being in a dungeon, about fifty feet underground, looking at the ceiling and... Getting blinded by the sun. Or, oh, oh, this one is even better, during sunset, standing on the lovely beaches and looking out to sea, then getting blinded by the sun... FROM UNDER THE OCEAN.

This is the sort of shit that should have been catched by even the simplest, weakest, crappiest testing. It shows a complete lack of caring for whether or not your customers get a decent product.

Well Gothic III has earned itself a place among other unfinished games in my shelf. Sure it is fun and fresh once you get passed some of the bugs but in the end it gets tedious, repetetive in a way that Oblivion didn't, and that is not because Oblivivion has a better story or anything, Oblivion just runs better without having to pick up your magic wand and fix around in dark fornlorn settings none was supposed to have to witness in this time of age.

Gothic III may be given some more time later on when enough patches has come and a new line of Übercomputers that can run the thing fluent enough to my liking.
