I've collected numerous swf shockwave/flash files off the net, and have saved them to my hdd. But, for some reason Macromedia Flash 5 refuses to play them.

It just loads up blank.

Any ideas on why??

No rush for this, as I use a different swf player. I just want to know why Flash won't work!

Could it be because you are using Flash 5? they are up to flash player 7 now. try updating your flash player.

I use Irfanview to open .swf files offline. Seems to work well.

I open them with Microsoft Internet Explorer. It works surprisingly well. Meaning that it works at all.
