Everyone has heard the idea of putting a armed guard into airplanes to avoid hijacking, I think it's stupid, well oranized hijacker would just target him first, kill him and then continue the hijacking.

But what if the whole airplane was armed, you'd instead of having the ridiculusly long waits at the airport searching peoples baggage you'd give every passanger over the age of 18 a gun, even better there would be a gun in a small compartment in every seat of the airplane, and promise the passengers a free trip to hawai or even a "audition free" spot in the next Idol, if they catch a hijacker. What hijackers would be stupid enough to try to hijack a plane when there is possibility of getting shot by about 200 pissed of travellers if they so much as show a sign of planning to hijack the plane? Keeping in mind that if you miss the hijacker you could kill someone else it wouldn't be too good an option.
That's not all that bad though. What's worse is that if you miss the hijacker and another passenger then you'd probably be making a hole in the plane meaning you're taking everyone down with it!

I don't think 200 people with guns in that small an area is a good idea think of the body count that could amass or with alot of holes in the plane it would just take out everyone.

But wouldn't the hijacker have access to the guns too?

I have a better idea. Sedate all the passengers for the duration of the flight. Problem solved

Now THAT is pure genius! Eliminates the need for in-flight meals, entertainment, the whole works!

Ever see the TV show "All in the Family"? Archie Bunker suggested that idea back in the '70s.

I've heard people suggest putting sleeping gas in the air conditioning in case of trouble, but I like that idea of just putting everyone to sleep as soon as they get on board better. I'll bet the flight attendants would love it too!
