Wah.. what's the next question?

Yes, I HAD noticed that, but I thought it would've been better if you spotted it instead,

Never mind ,

This homework is getting interesting, two questions to go:

C) Considering that most people have the presence of a adult figure whether they like it or not - what about orphans and orphanage care? What does orphanage care show us about how children who are born without a parental figure from birth?

NOTE: Does orphanage life differ in the way so that if they are adopted by foster parents later on in life - they will "adapt" to living in a "parental figure" life?

NOTE 2: If the child resents being in a foster home (due to unfamiliarly and unaccustomed surroundings), would it be better for him/her to remain in an orphanage?

How does this differ from being in a Daycare?

Moiraine, you've brought up the issue that just keeps haunting me as well, you are so right that child abuse is probably the worst sin anybody can commit! Being French, I'm sure you've heard of the Dutroux case (in Belgium) as well... I cannot believe the huge blunders that were made in that case by the government and judicial system! Did you know that the only reason why he is still imprisoned is because he tried to escape and used violence? Otherwise he'd probably already been let off for lack of evidence, and that possibility is still there anyway! For everybody who doesn't know, Dutroux is suspected of having killed several young girls (aged 9 to 14 I think) and having been involved in a major child porn network, so large that politicians and judges are said to have been involved as well (which is also the reason why the case is taking so long...).
Anyway sorry to clog up your thread with this Wah, just wanted to let Moiraine know I agree 100 %.

As for daycare, which is called creche in Holland as well I think Moiraine mentions a good point, namely that it is very good for the development of toddlers/young children to see other kids their age, esp. if they have no siblings. I have no idea what creches are like in other countries, but I think they're pretty good in Holland. The only problem would be if the parents just dump their kids there every single day of the week. I went to a creche when I was little, but only for about half of the week. This was a perfect solution, as it meant that half of the week, my mother would have all her attention only for me, and the other half I would go to the daycare, meet all my little friends, play games together and learn a lot of valuable things.
Hey Wah, good luck with your exams btw! My sister is taking them as well these weeks!

Thanks Melusine! No problem at all - in fact I learnt a lot just by being nosey and listening to your conversation with Moiraine

Brrrrrr! It frightens me just thinking about it.

I think Moni mentioned something about child abuse in Daycares too........

well, daycare is daycare. unlike orphanages which give you extensive care compared to a daycare center, an orphanage provides you with the necessities you need. not just fun, but everything else. its indeed different for the child at one point will feel abandoned, that he doesnt belong to something... lost. that is if the child encounters this prob. if he is coping well, it will be just like any other day, except that there is still this holloe fact that you do not know where you truly belong... making you really feel lonely. as for their own children either they do a better job in protecting their offsprings or just leave them, or even throw them to an orphanage too... its really broad.

Another unfortunate situation, this time in the UK
.
Basically a guy was arrested because he got orphans from the orphanages and pimped them. I hope he dies in prison, but for some reason they get all the sympathy

What are you talking about lord shield? My dad is a prison guard and from the storys he has told me the child abusers get the worst treatment of them all cause most of the criminals in there got screwed in the head because of people like that child pimp.
