Is it just me or do others see characters with Grand Mastery of a weapon attacking only once? I know in the table top rules a fighter attacks more often than this just with level gain. Specialization grants more attacks. Whats the deal with the BG, IWD and BG2. The only way my 13th level fighter attacks more than once per round is if he has a weapon that grants an extra attack or is hasted. Is this a bug in the engine or designed in?

Yes, AD&D rules would say that the fighter gets an extra attack. However, the game designers didn't make the game that way.

For BG2 someone (unofficial) made a rules fix to give the extra attack for grand mastery. I don't know if there is a similar rules fix for IWD.

Hi there!
The same one applies to IWD too!
Just copy it too your IWD override folder..

Make backups and remeber what you have done.. Can be some problems I have heard, but mine functioned great.

Well..I've never been into downloading unsupported files in case they actually give me 2 extra attacks or something or mess up my game, but I take from all of you that this works fine..So, I was wondering if I could get a link to somewhere I could get it - And it works for BG II and IWD? Nice! Thats like hittin 2 trolls with 1 aganaazers scrocher!

I have used the teamBG stuff alot on Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2. I wasn't sure if the fix for grand mastery would work for IWD but I just tried it and it works great. Here is the link. Though you have to use Internet Explorer to access the site...something about the 3D Downloads just doesn't like Netscape.

I also downloaded and installed their VB5 and VB6 packages since their stuff requires it. I have never had any trouble running anything I have downloaded from them. Download the BG2 Rules Fix Patch. Point it to your overrides folder and unzip...have fun
