Hm. Have you tried going to Add/Remove programmes and using the install button there? It might work...
I'm not technical so I dunno if your system is good enough. Does it meet the miniums on the box? If so, you should be ok. Also, some games are not too keen on the AMD chip. I have AMD Athlon 650 myself, and it can be a pain getting some games installed. ------------------ Smile! Life is too short for bitching! Fljotsdale |

I don't know if this helps, but it took me about 5 times to get a proper full install.
I don't remember if I ever got the Blue Screen of Death, but I know installing was pretty buggy. Fortunately, I've had very few problems since then (knock on wood). The only other thing I can think of is copying some files to the hard drive yourself. I know with my full install there are directories for CD 2 and CD 3 (I think that's HOW) in the IWD directory. ------------------ Most Subtle Official Straightman of the Laughing Hyenas -- Grammarian Brigade. |

Ok sounds good i'll try that because nothing has worked so far.
This last time i tried reducing the Res too 640x480x16 and now after 20% installed i'm getting a blank screen with a green bar accross the top. This install for this game has been the stragest an most frustrating i have ever run across. |

Kool Finally it seams that it was all a memory timming issue,or bug.
Called a friend of mine who is a Microsoft Network Specialist(finally got in touch with him), and he said sounds like a timming prob. during install (he knows my sys. always buys my spare stuff when i upgrade LOL). Anyway enough rambling LOL. Told him all i tried and suggested changing my CAS setting from 2 to 3 even though i have CAS 2 PC133 memory. And Wahla Full complete installs of both IWD and HOW. Finally now i can play as soon as i get the download patch and add on. P.S.-So if your having what seams to be a video prob during gameplay it maybe a memory timing prob also. |

On the old board, I remember talking about how memory intensive these games are and how programmer don't really make it any easier by making the games memory friendly.
I'm not surprised that many people encounter memory problems, although I wouldn't have the know-how to diagnose such a problem. Glad you figured it out and thanks for posting your solution. |

CAS is the timing cycles for the RAM memory. It is how often they update..
RAM are a great piece of trouble for alot of games. One idea is to go and see if you can download a patch for your mainboard. Though one thing is that for AMD users, interplay aren´t known to be any helpers there in their games.. IWD do have some problems with AMD. ------------------ WOLF WINS EVERY FIGHT BUT ONE, AND IN THAT ONE, HE DIES |
