I think he means you get 10000+ gold for finishing the quest.

The Mae'Var's guildhall quest is also quite lucrative.

Remember to bring a good lockpicker and loot all the doors and boxes in the training room.

Pretty early on in the game you can do the Trademeet quests, they're the easiest, and they give you a lot of cash and gems once you get the town up and running again.

You can get some cash completing the Mae'Var quest and de'Arnise Hold. You can also cleanse Slaver Stockage and get some items worth to sell. You can cleanse tombs in the Graveyard District and get some more items worth to sell. Finally, you can generate money in any black market shop: they buy stolen items so that you can rob the shop and sell the stolen items back to it. Repeat.
Note about the graveyard district: if you are planning to side with Bodhi, then you'd better avoid the graveyard until you are ready to accept her offer and pay her 15000 gold. Then you can investigate the graveyard. Otherwise, you must have installed a patch removing a bug related to Bodhi and the graveyard which can clobber the whole game.
