OK, I know that some of us have looked at the epic char build page at the Hordes site. This thread is for those who find them interesting, to say the least. I have spent some time playing with builds, epic, but playable, without requiring the PRC, etc. I think I have found the ultimate tank build, and would like to see what you think, and, what you would like to build for an epic char.
I'll have to look to see exactly what I did for skill allocation, but what I ended up with is, so far, a lvl 35 fighter/weapon master, with weapon of choice in Scimitar and Kukri, with Dev Crit in both weapons, and a discipline of 30, parry of 20, and a high heal score. The split will be 20/20. She has no stat under 10, and a str of 28, so far. This would be a playable char, but still a munchkin.
Her gear: Full plate +7, Cowl of warding, ring of prot +9, ring of major elemental resistance, cloak of movement, dragon slippers, and a greater ammy of health. Her weapons: Desert Wind +8, and Cutting Star +8.
I made her in Chewbacca's Novice to Epic char maker, and got all her gear there. She was totally successful in the arena there as well, suffering no defeats, even against an epic pit fiend, with two vrocks for back up.
So, thoughts, and what kind of char would you like to build for munchkinville??

Honestly I would scrap parry as you can only parry 3 attacks per round.

With your level build you would be getting around 5 attacks per round thus loosing two attacks.

I've always found parry to be lacking.

You could put these skill points into lore or something like that.

I was messing with a Dwarven 10 WM/10 DwD/20 F last night. I like this build in particular because it allows for two prestige classes.

Epic Specialist + Dev. Crit with the Dwarven Axe. Discipline 41. Strength 28 Con 20

In the Arena he managed to defeat 2 level 40 fighters but fell when faced with 3.

I plan on messing with this build more to find a sweet level allocation.

Perhaps we can arrange an epic level PvP face-off. I've yet to play NWN PvP but I am interested in trying it out.

That would be cool with me. Dueling can be fun, it's the griefing that isn't. We have an arena in the other Mod I play in, and we use it to test out builds against eachother all the time. My favorite char there has Dev Crit on a rapier, and Epic Dodge. She's hard to hit, period, her final ac was over 100.
Edit: The purpose for this one to have Parry is a lower AC than I would like. With Parry, I buy time for either a ranged party member, or mage, to do damage, or to score a Dev Crit on a Riposte attack. A very feasible strategy, which would seem, on paper, to be good. I did test the Dev Crit on Riposte Attacks, and they do work, so I'd assume that with Parry, I can buy myself some time, if solo, to wear down an Overpowering enemy, until I can get the job done.

I have two builds that I really like. One has Dev Crit, Epic Dodge and SC 5.

The other can reach an AC of over 100 (bard, pm, RDD)

I would love to test some of these builds in PvP

If you want some testing arenas EfU has a few PvP areas that we can use.

Sounds good, if we can link up... I've only seen you once while I was in game, but I think you were on vacation, or walk about, or something.

I'm up for it. The next update of the Character Maker includes revised arenas. I added 6 areas for flavor, they behave just like the castle arena in the current CM. These areas are all ready and I could host a server and we could duke it out in this MOD as well.

When is a good time for those interested. I can usually make time after 10 PM EST just about any night.

On a different note....
HAs any come across such thing as a'PvP competive dungeon' module or server? I 've been brewing on an idea for such a thing, and I haven't come across any so far in recent searching.

One idea I had for a competive dungeon module was a race through a dungeon collecting tokens by making kills, using skills, and advancing through the different levels. Tracking the # of tokens collected results in a score and determines who wins. PvP would be allowed, but doesnt insure victory. Anybody seen any modules or servers like that?

Havn't seen any mods like that but there are HEAPS of PvP mods out there.

Hey Chewie.

If you get some time head on over to EfU, level up a character and join us in the PvP tournament I'm going to host in there.

I haven't seen one either, but there is a pvp module that came with one of the updates. Maybe it could be revised to suit??
Note to TDC, I'm currently working on the char I started this thread about in EfU, and I got a better ac, and no parry. At lvl 14, she just whipped the Frost Giant King and Queen solo, with no death. She doesn't even have weapon of choice on both weapons yet...She's going to be bad news, I think.

But remember, EFU gives us amazing items and weapons...would your character survive without the ac bonuses etc in the OC?
