They usually have a really low social intelligence and are really quiet in public and they dont have many real life friends.
You almost described me here. Except that I am not ugly, in fact, I am quite handsome .
And I don't think that my social status is low because I spend a lot of time on computer, it is the other way around. I hadn't had many friends even before I got a PC. Great majority of my schoolmates, friends and people in general think that entertainment cannot go without drinks and smokes (not to mention drugs). Their concept of Saturday afternoon is going to a bar and drink, then going to a club and drink some more, and after that, going to disco and drink again. I tried hanging out with such people, but I couldn't understand them and gave up soon after. If that is an alternative, then I am happy with my Baldur's Gate. What is the point of being in a place where the music is so loud that you barely hear your own thoughts? And it amuses them somehow. It's hard to find somebody who shares my outlook. You can pity me, but can you blame me?
[/QUOTE]Well, let me tell you something. I was a computer geek, and I would perfectly fit the group I described above some years ago. It all started when I got a PC. It changed my life. BAM, I was addicted to computer games. I did nothing but playing computer games. When friends asked me to come out and hang with them, I said "HELL NO, IM FIGHTING THE FINAL BOSS IN HALF LIFE!!!". In the end thay didnt bother to ask me out again. The only friends I had was other geeks, and virtual friends. I had the same point of view as you. Whats the point of getting drunk and stuff, going to nightclubs and stuff seemed just weird. I didnt care about my outfit, and I didnt care about anyones opinions. All I cared about was the computer. I had a very low social intelligence, and was very quiet. Until I changed. One day I realized how stupid I was wasting my life infront of a screen. You only live once and I wanted to see the world. I went to England for a year to study Media. And thank god my hostparents didnt have a computer. I went out, had a social life, learnt allot, made new friends and now im a completely different person. I still play computer games when I have time though, but social life comes first. Not the other way around. Thats just something IMO thats very important.
