Default Tony Hayward back in oil

In business news, the former BP CEO is headed back into the oil business:

Look, the real deal in the BP oil spill wasn't who was running the show, it was that regulators who were supposed to be watching this shit got "captured" (I put the quotes in because "regulatory capture" is a common term) by the industry and were busy snorting blow off of hookers' asses rather than doing their jobs. The Gulf oil spill was a prime example of regulatory failure, and a prime example of how regulations and oversight thereof is needed, despite what you Malthusians and supposed Smithians (note: Adam Smith had no problem with regulation) may say.

I happened to watch the South Park episode with him in it yesterday. I honestly can't take him seriously now.

When he made the statement along the lines of not knowing about the rig operations, many could not take him seriously.

Agreed TL!
