anyone ever imagine having to face ANYTHING from the Cthulhu mythos inside of AD&D, especially in a graphical game such as NeverWinter Nights? Can you imagine the spellsets such creatures would have as "natural abilities?" let alone actually meeting an Old One. I doubt the average graphics card would let you try that out (putting one of the Elder Gods on the screen)...

Nice idea - and I´m sure this would be quite *graphical* ;.) ...

But I think Cthulhu creatures won´t work inside the AD&D ruleset. Those creatures aren´t meant to be beaten or even beatable. And AD&D is all about beating all *adverseness* standing in your way and not just evading them or pushing them back just a bit like the heroes of Lovecraft´s stories normally do.

However, the original edition of "Deities and Demigods" for AD&D 1st ed. had listings for all the "Old Ones" plus some of the lesser races. TSR got into trouble with Lovecraft's estate over that, and subsequent editions had those listings removed.

The Big C is in there, of course. Along with 30 attacks per round. Yeah, 30.

Scotty, beam me up!
