"(The Internet) has created a dark hole, a dungeon if you will, for people who have mental illnesses or people who are lonely," U.S. District Judge Marsha Pechman said. "I didn't see any parent standing there saying, 'It's not a healthy thing to lock yourself in a room and create your own reality."'

Discuss.

It's true.
Shouldn't we be thankful now that they have someplace to go?

Yeps, sure better than having them vandering the streets raping and killing people... guess that district judge doesn't get as much work these days as she used to

Dungeon? Well hey I play RPGs all the time, I like dungeons! Am finishing up my old Dungeon Siege game right now actually. Oh no, what does that make me?!

I say screw those that rag on the Internet, most of them never had any real experience with it, and go by stereotypes, only hearing the bad things about it, and ignoring hearing anything good about it. Ignorance.

OK, I'm off down the dungeonous hallways of this forum, to seek another thread, a dark hole, "if you will."

We wouldn't have to have our own world, if he did his job and made the real world safe from crime.

unfortunately the net has just as much crime.

internet-good thing
the way people use it-not always so good
the people using it-sometimes need to not use it

There are a lot of problems with the internet; it can breed personal disrespect, it can destroy integrity, it can be an addiction, it can be used wrongly (but really, what can't?), and it certainly dehumanizes things quite often.

However, the internet has done far more good than bad. It has created a closer world community, it has allowed us instant access to educational and sometimes vital information, and it has allowed faster method of communication (another element of community). It has allowed us to get things done faster; and that is a great accomplishment.

I am all for the internet; it rocks.

But it can do bad things .
Too bad, Judge-Dude. Call Whine-1-1.
