Just had a very pleasant evening in the company of some friends who were in Amsterdam earlier this year.

Thing is, they say they witnessed this rockstar type funeral (i.e. Hell's Angel's honour guard etc. ) for someone called Herman Brood. I confess my ignorance, but I thought I would ask our Dutch contingent whether this guy is significant or not.....

Any opinions/observations/comments gratefully received

Well Mouse, he certainly was big over here, although I never thought much of him. He was a rebellious rockstar/painter and singer/songwriter. He lived the bad boy's life, drinking heavily and using drugs excessively. He was a folk hero to some, but most just found him rather pathetic, as did I. He was getting old, becoming gray, losing his talents and his looks, and so decided to top himself. He jumped off the roof of the Amsterdam Hilton hotel, where he plummeted to his death. A pathetic thing to do, and something I can't respect in the slightest. He was, in my opinion, one of the biggest cowards ever known to man.
