in the world in the ice globe i killed a white wyrm or whatever it was. am i supposed to get scales of something so i can make an armour out of her?

No, I don't think you'd get anything other than dragon's blood and random treasure off the body, and nothing but gems, gold and a word in the chest. However, both the dragon's blood and the diamond you'll find can be used to create new items.

I also got a cracked amulet which they woudn't let me sell. I thought it must have a purpose, but I never found out what it was.

Well, if I remind correctly, this amulet must be fixed
to solve the quest (reunite the dwarfs and driads). SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The amulet is broken, the dwarfs fix it. As the dwarfs are hostiles when the driads are friendly (and vice versa), you must exit the globe when you have the amulet if the dwarfs are hostiles. Turn the globe (or his pedestal) to revert the mood of the dwarfs/driads, re-enter the globe and give the amulet to the dwarfs, they will fix it (if friendly). Then switch again the mood of the globe citizens, go to the driads, give them the amulet (or use it in their pool), they will re-enchant it. Then they will be freed of the curse. (sory for my english) |

Now that is very interesting. In my game the dwarfs and dryads became friendly before I left and afterwards the snow globe was dead and you couldn't get back in.
I think I went back out and talked to them before I left, but that's all I recall doing. And the amulet stayed broken. thoon |

if you turn the globe you can change which ones that are hostile of the dwarves and the nymphs. the dwarves can repair the amulet and the nymphs can restore it's magic. The amulet is a sign of the union between dwarves and nymphs and when the white wyrm sees it she will attack...thats about all i know
