I think Elfbane is right about the "spiritual successor to PsT" bit. It won't be planescape no matter no hard they try to spin it as such.

But after watching the vid here:

http://kck.st/13F7hZm

and listening to Colin McComb describe the game, this might be worth keeping an eye on.

My biggest issue is that information about the Numenera game system is really sparse at the moment. Their webpage has only the barest of information on it. Check out the single page on character creation:
http://www.numenera.com/character-creation/
There's not a lot of detail there.

I was planning on getting Wasteland 2 but now there is THIS option in the Torment Kickstarter:

Pledge $45 or more

ALL ABOUT THE GAMES - RPG SPECIAL - ALL DIGITAL =============================

Two great RPGs from inXile for under the price of a single game! You'll receive a digital downloadable copy of Torment: Tides of Numenera and Wasteland 2, both DRM-free for PC, MAC OSX, or Linux. You'll also receive Digital Game Manuals for both.

That's a pretty good deal actually. I would MUCH prefer hard copies but what the heck.

I can spot you WL2 when it comes out, Micah--my pledge to that project gives me 10 digital copies to do with as I please, including just giving it away. I can throw it on a stick and mail it to you at no cost to you. You cannot have my shrink-wrapped and signed boxed copy, though; that goes into storage, never to be opened.

No, Numerea will not be PST (a game I never played) but I think the nostalgia factor will be there for many fans.

inXile is really making waves and Kickstarter has been their friend. The Wasteland franchise had a huge following. If they can ever fully get the rights to Bard's Tale away from EA they might even resurrect that franchise.

SOLD! LOL

Torment does look promising - but I agree it won't be PsT. You should definitely get PsT if you can. One of the best cRPGs of all time. I think I have all of my cds on PsT (and undamaged from flood water too). It's 9.99$ download at GoG now. Or you can get a factory sealed version for 19.99$ here:

Check your pms. Message sent.

Check out this video:

Torment Update #1 from C McComb.

Around 1:27 Colin makes a quick reference to guest stars in Torment - and there's a quick flash of THIS pic:

That's Myrkul from Mask of the Betrayer.

Noty played MotB all the way through; I stopped playing NWN2 in Storm of Zehir because, honestly, I got bored with all the overland walking and random fights. It also didn't seem to be going anywhere, just walking and random fights. ugh.

Message received. Will reply again shortly.

Chris Avellone will join the team if they reach 3.5 Mil. Do you need any more reason to pledge if you haven't already?

LOL I was already in before Avellone was announced. His potential addition gives me an excuse to bump my pledge.
