Ok I've looked at the manuals (which i believe are hard for a "never played any D&D stuff before in all his life")
Please.....someone give me a clear answer... Str 18/57 means what exactly... 18/100 does it exist? Is it better than str of 21 (frost giant strength?) Please Clarify??

With strength 18/57, you get a +2 bonus to THAC0 and a +3 bonus to damage. 18/00 is better still, as it gives you a +3 bonus to THAC0 and a +6 bonus to damage. But strength 21 is obviously the best possible, and so try and get that if you can.

When you play a fighter there are sub-divisions of 18 strength that can give you a few more bonuses than someone without them. 18/01 is basically the same as having just a plain non-fighter with 18 strenth. 18/00 on the other hand is a slight bit better. But the next step to 18/00 is 19. 18 is the only number with sub-divisions, and only for fighters. I hope I have helped.
