Swashbuckler

I just started soloing as a swashbuckler for my first time. He is doing pretty good, but is not so accurate. When I fought the Cambion in Irenicus' dungeon, I had to use three potions to defeat him. Is this normal?
Any tips or hints I should be aware of?

What are his stats, proficiencies, and current weapons?

Remember, a Thief's Thac0, even a Swashbuckler's isn't as good as a Fighter's. He needs several levels before his attacks will hit with regularity. Also, if you've been spoiled by 20th level Fighters with +5 weapons, expect a bit of hardship...

Use your abilities to their fullest potential. Even if you cannot backstab, sneaking in close to an opponent can still give the element of surprise and sometimes allows you to get off the first attack or two, before having to sprint away using the boots of speed!

While it is the Swashbuckler's melee skill that earns him his reputation as an opponent to be reconed with, do not neglect the fact that his bonus to-hit and damage apply to missile attacks as well. Thus the Swashbuckler can become quite a deadly archer.
What weapon proficiencies did you take? What are your stats? What are your Bhaal powers?
