Hello people,

I am still playing a solo Bishop/Samurai. I am pretty advanced now, Sam is lvl 16 and Bis is level 18 (or so...).

Anway, I noticed that as a Samurai I can cast lvl 7 spells (like Death Cloud) with almost no chance of failing (first six circles are green, the last is yellow). Afterwards, when changing back to Bishop (whose level is even higher than that of Samurai), lo and behold, Death Cloud now has the first three circles green, the next two yellow, and the last two are even organge.

The spell ability seems to drop with a change from Samurai to Bishop. Now how can that be???

Thanks in advance for replies!

How high are wizardry and alchemy skills?
Your example Death Cloud is an alchemist spell. Maybe casting a spell with a samurai always uses wizardry for checking success rates, and a bishop uses the correct skill?

Wereboar, Alchemy is actually higher than Wizardry. So by your rationale, when changing to Bishop spell casting should become easier right? Hmmm, I'm at a loss...

it also comes down to casting level. For any spells in the wizardry realm a Sam can cast he would add his Sam Casting level 16-4 =12 + his Bishop level 18 which is casting level 30. Alchemist level casting is level 18 only because of the bishop. So it would be best to stay a Sam because all wizardry spells that are shared with the Alchemist are cast at level 30. If Alchemy is higher than wizardry when you are a Bishop then the Alchemy is the school used and that is why as a bish you wouldn't cast the same level as a Sam. I think.
