about the whole Orient issue:

orient is from Latin
"oriens" (present participle active of "orior" = rise) meaning "rising" short for "Land of the Rising Sun" meaning "Land in that direction where the sun usually rises" meaning "Land in the East".
It was commonly used for the uncharted and widely unknown territories east of Europe - as well for the middle East as for the Far East.
Also there was no other contact between the Far East and Europe than through Arab merchants for a long time.
BTW sometimes the western hemisphere is still referred to as "occident" (from Latin "occido" = die, perish) as in "Land in that direction where the sun usually vanishes"

well um..err..whatever you know I'm looking for arabic names! So please post arabic names ok guys? Thanks a lot I created over 40 npc's and that's enough thanks a lot And thanks for correcting me about "oriental" word. In 3rd edition d&d there was a feat (oriental weapon feat) this feat lets you use weapons such as shurikens stars samurai swords etc yep it's about faaar faar far east japanese etc. But what about oriental dance? Do you know danseuses (female dancers/belly dancers) in harems palaces? Their dance is known as oriental dance. japanese girls dont know about this dance well whatever thanks for your help..
