I read in another post a while back that if you gave all the Drow armour you collect to Jaheria and kick her off the team prior to leaving the underdark, you can meet up with her later (where I don't know) and have her rejoin the team and then you can use Drow armour above ground after that.

Is this true ? Can anyone confirm this ?

Where do you meet back up with her if it is true ?

Someone said you could put it in a bag of holding to bring it outside, but that did not work for me.

I accidentally lost jaheira to a petrification spell from a beholder and she had drow full plate equipped at the time. When i used a stone to flesh scroll she left the group and said she'd meet me back at the harper compound in dockl ward. When i got back she was still in drow shape and the drow full plate was usable.

bonus!

SherpaDoug, you have been misinformed. The thing that triggers the armour's disintegration is the area outside the underdark. As soon as you go there wearing any drow equipment, you'll lose it. So here's what you do. Give all the armours and other equipment to a member of your party, at best someone like Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen... etc. Preferably, put everything in a Bag of Holding so that they won't be encumbered. Then, ask them to leave the party and they will immediately leave for Athkatla, WITHOUT passing through the area you want to avoid. Then, travel after them and as soon as you reach Athkatla, take the person back into your party. He/she will still carry all the equipment, and as long as you do not enter the area outside the Underdark, you get to keep it!
Mind, you'll have to perform this trick with someone who will indeed travel to Athkatla to wait there. So don't try to do it with Korgan when your reputation is 18, for you won't see him again.

Hi melusine! How's it been? Hmmm........well if you go back to that area with the stuff on - will it explode and dissapear? In which case Elhan's task is impossible to complete?

Well the answer to that is really simple. When you are ready to do Elhan's quest, first travel to the area with the werewolf camp, the area where you will enter Suldanesselar. Drop all Drow equipment there. Then go and talk to Elhan, and you will all be transported back to the area where you left your stuff. Before you enter the elven city simply pick the armour back up

i know how to keep dorw armour !!!
but it involves cheating ...
if you use the cheat codes and summon a drow warrior to fight and it is out in the daylight when you kill him you can pick up and use his stuff it's awsome !!

well, not to get all weird on everyone, cuz i have done my share of messing around with the boundaries and limits of the game, too... for research, of course

but to me some things just shouldn't be messed with. drow armor is one of them. sure, it's the best armor and i think its totally cool looking, but the whole ethos of the drow and not being able to function well in the daylight is a great concept i love to uphold. i enjoy the idea that some of the best things in the game are temporary.

anyway, melusine... that's a great thing you discovered. that the area outside is what triggers the disintegration of the armor.
