I didn't say he should stop.

Is this guy for real?? Sounds like me in my MOST sarcastic mood

Hehe, I like the contrast:

Redlong: I feel extraordinarily honored to have received so many cordial welcomes

Mel: Bloody hell, mate!

Oh, I *can* write like that, I just don't do it. Not on here anyway... but the essay I'm currently writing is about aureate language and I'm getting into the subject.

It's a funny contrast, I agree, like something from a book.

And it reminds me a bit of that Blackadder episode with Samuel Johnson: "I'm anaspeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericumbobulations". Does my "bloody hell mate" make me Baldrick, then? :S

Let's see, Red. To "participate" in some of the forums, you should play the various games that are popular around here. Those with their forums would be a good start. And you can play at the role-playing forum anytime, as long as you stick to the Rules and Regs. Otherwise, happy posting!

Darn, Mel! I must have missed your total 6-count, now it's just a 6669- still respectably 'evil' I guess, but not as much impact. I give it a 9.5 on the evil count scale! :heheh:

BTW, HELLO! Long time no see and you've been missed. Hope the classes are going well!

Oh, I dunno, Cloudy. Should she get extra points for the "69" in there as well?
Oh and I second the HEY! Try and stop in, when you can, Mel.

It almost sounds like Redlong is running things through a very sophisticated translator. Everything you're saying is quite correct, but it's very, very formal -- the kind of language you'd see in a peace treaty or something like that.

How do you participate? Post responses to questions and other posts. And don't worry about all the people commenting about your formal tone -- it's really just fine, but a lot fancier than most of this lot are used to. Perhaps you can straighten them out a bit... me included

Now I'm just the Neighbour of the Beast.

Hello back! Hope you're OK.
Don't have any classes right now, just writing essays, which is going so-so (contentwise they're good, timewise they are bloody late )

Bungleau, (online/electronical) translators that sophisticated do not exist.

I was pretty sure of that, Melusine, which is why I didn't call them on-line or electronic. It may be a guy down the hall, or a parent, or an olde dictionary... I know that most of the drivel that comes out of on-line translators is good for basic stuff, but not for anything that fancy
