what are the skill and feat points that are right for a monk? i plan to multiclass him later to a cleric. or would a ranger or druid be better. i already have a dreadmaster whom i plan to multiclass to a monk later.

what about weapons? is there any point in giving a monk weapon proficieny?

Well, IMHO Monks make better druids than clerics. Good feats include Power Attack, Cleave, Saves, Dodge, Improved Critical. Take Hide and Move Silently as skills, maybe even search or disarm or something, but it's unneeded.

Only take weapon proficiencies if you plan on using a bow or the like, you will be using plane fists for melee.

Taking weapon proficiencies depends on how many Monk levels you are going to take.
Quote:
Level 1-3: 1-6
Level 4-7: 1-8
Level 8-11: 1-10
Level 12-15: 1-12
Level 16-20: 1-20
Level 21-25: 1-20 +1-6
Level 26-30: 1-20 +1-10
This is the progression of the damage level Monk's fist do per Monk level. Also, Monk's unarmed attack doesn't count as an enchancement bonus until Monk level 10. Therefore, IMO, I would use a weapon over fists with any Monk less than level 12 and even then I would consider a weapon if it were greater than 1D12, which most would be at that point in the game.

I never ever use weapons with monks. Unless they have less than 15 levels mutliclassed. Why? They get special bonuses to hit when using their hands. They gain additional attacks per round if unarmed. And they do more damage than anything other than the MGAoF and some other rare weapons. In the rare rare occasions their natural Ki Strike is not enough to hit someone, there's always to strike something other than the primary target. One single area in the game requires +4 enchantment, and doesn't have alternative targets to bash up.

Well if you want to power up your monk big-time, add the improved monk ease of use mod. It makes the monks fists count as daggers, so you can take finess and take the dex modifyer instead of the str, saving some stat points.

If your Str and Dex are equal, no need for the mod (or at least the fists-as-small-weapons part).

The monk's faith doesn't make a difference, as far as I know. However it does affect what class you can multiclass to without losing the ability to take more monk levels. Alignment has a role here too.

The mod will make a difference before creating a monk (I never used the mod though). You can spend less points in STR and more in DEX.

The faith of the monk has no new abilities. It dtermines what class you can dual-class to and still being able to take monk levels later and can restrict your allignement.

EDIT: - looks like Aerich types faster
