Ok, I looked through all of my books and couldn't find anything on slots for video cards. What do I do next to find out?

Chances are that given the age of the PC, there are no ISA slots which are longer. PCI slots sit closer to the back of the PC than do AGP slots. PCI slots will tend to have a modem, NIC, or sound card in them. Most motherboards with onboard video do not have AGP slots, but some do.

What is the number on the front of the Pavillion?

if you want an easy solution, open up the case and have a look inside. if there is a small brown slot (agp) next to a bunch of small white slots (pci) then you can upgrade your video card. If so, you should be able to get a geforce 2 or something for about 20 bucks (at a guess) second hand, and that would be enough to run morrowind on low detail.

If not, you _might_ be able to get a pci version of a geforce 2, or maybe a radeon 9000 (think they come in pci) second hand, for a bit more than what an agp version would cost.

Good call lethoso, I could not remember the colors of the slots, and was too lazy to open up my PC to look!

So how did it work out?

IMHO Morrowind is worth the extra expense!
