I will post jokes if they fit a topic or are unusually funny (IMHO). Actually I've been asked not to over post, and I can respect that. I WILL respond to topics that interest me, or that I can stir the pot.

I don't get why a single joke thread 'doesn't work'. People see it, they can laugh, post if they feel like it or more likely, just feel good for the laugh and move on. Do you need to get lots of replies to make it worth doing? That implies you are only posting the thread to get attention and I'd like to think that you just want to share the laughs with others.
Many folk post things that don't get lots of replies, Arvon. ESPECIALLY joke threads! If I read a joke, I don't always respond, because often the only thing I could say is "HAHA, funny joke" which seems a waste of bandwidth. Besides, if everyone did that, it would be a pretty dull thread, anyway! For the record, you didn't have to make a big announcement- we'd have noticed the new system, I'm sure. I'd suggest you go ahead and do it your new way and see what happens. Maybe your fewer, more high quality jokes will get the praise and numbers of replies you seem to feel you need. If nothing else, you surely won't get complaints about too many threads! At any rate, it can't hurt to try your new method and see how it works out. I wish you luck with the new high quality jokes and can't wait to see them! edit: Arvon, you alluded to 'dings' you'd received and I want to make a reminder about IW policy concerning private msgs, if you are referring to things from pm's or private mail etc, please remember that such things should be kept off the boards unless the other party or parties explicitly agree that you can post their concerns or names. In other words, don't air the dirty laundry on the board, ok? Again, good luck with the streamlined joke program! I do hope it works out and you get nothing but good responses.
