I'm playing an evil party, but sometimes I take the good solution to a quest, because it gives more exp, gold or items; or because I just can't manage to be so heartless
But now my rep has been going up to fast; It can be raised to 18 and none of the evil characters will desert, but it's just not any fun this way. So from time to time I kill someone who can't be pickpocketed and has some great items to lower my reputation. Do you know any persons that might be fitting? SPOILER - - - - - - - - - - I already did this once, with the person who gives the bounty's in Nashkell, he carries a lot of gold, and the 2 esmeralds you might or might not have given him.

The mayor of Beregost (and his 4 sirens) - although you might wait until after you have completed Cloakwood.

This may be more of a question about being evil than anything else but when your rep gets low enough and the Flaming Fist starts attacking you at the drop of a hat...how easy is it to get from point A to point B and can you sleep at inns and go to stores after you have been going through the countryside like a plague?

The game manual explains the consequences of a low reputation. The lower end may make your evil characters happy BUT if you have any good NPCs they'll leave, plus the expense of purchasing items goes waaaayyyyy up. The Flaming Fist randomly spawns and then you got a real problem because you'll either run or be forced to fight them. The main problem with fighting is that if you kill just one your reputation will drop even further. Eventually no one will sell anything to you, the city populace will be fully hostile, it will be impossible to sleep in Inns, and if I am not mistaken some of the main characters that you need to deal with to complete one chapter to get to the next may be nigh impossible. Do yourself a favor and just get caught stealing. The most you'll lose in reputation is 1 point as long as you don't fight any of the guards.

Or you could just kill a random commoner in any town. I think it will drop your Rep by 2 points. That way, you can lower it as needed, but still keep it high enough to avoid any of the aforementioned problems.
And remember - the most dangerous evil is the one that blends easily into society rather than standing out from the crowd.

I think that for each FF you ice, it's a 10 point hit to your rep.

Not to mention the fact that the rest of them will start hunting you down from that moment on.

The way i play an evil character, is not neccessarily that i'm running through the streets of bergost, fireballing small groups of animals and children, raping the women and toasting the flaming fist. It's more of a thing, with bending rules, breaking laws, getting away with whatever you can, not necessarily having people like you, but at least having them not know what you're doing. You could look at it this way: It's like you're an evil theif. Yes, you're evil. Yes, you enjoy doing evil things. No, you don't want people to think you're a goody-goody, but you're not stupid. A smart evil character doesn't just walk up to the mayor of bergost and start laying into him. The smart player tries to steal stuff, get away with more, and such. Eventually, you may someday be powerful enough to subdue all your enemies, but until then, is it really intelligent to invoke the wrath of those seemingly invincible Flaming fist mages?
eviiiilllll.......
