ive read in here that you need to find valygar to get into the sphere... where/when can i do this? before i leave for the asylum? (where i am now)

He has a cabin in the Umar hills,in the north above the mimic cave. Good luck thats a tough quest.

hmmm... here is my problem... ive played thru with a good aligned party, and got the umar hills quest, but so far my evil party hasnt been able to get it... i dont recall who gives this quest... where can i find this out?

The guy who give you the quest is Tolegrias in the government building, or if you talk to Valygar hell give it to you. Do you mean how do you get the map location?

Yes Tolegrias in the gov building in the gov district, So no ranger quest then.
