Personally, I'm wishing I hadn't multi-classed to fighter.

I couldn't agree, more. I love the storyline, but the chase camera is dizzy-making.

It's not quite BG3 - if it was as big as BG2 then it would be BG3. It's more like BG2.75.
This may be old news, but latest rumours are the Black Isle's old Jefferson Project which WAS Baldurs Gate 3 is NOW in the hands of Bethesda Software. Unfortunately it's release is not imminent as the game design is undergoing a MASSIVE rewrite to update it for latest in graphic technology.

Bethesda? *keeps his fingers crossed* I'm not sure if I should be excited or frightened.

As skeptic and sarcastic I may be as a person and a doomlover at that, I had early on a cautious attitude (and somewhat hostile feelings toward this game and the handing over to Obsidian) towards NWN 2. After the first not too good reviews technical wise. (I don't care if the intentions are good if the game chops forward a lousy 2 FPS ) I can now fully say this:
If you like Faerun, if you liked the gameplay of NWN and if you missed the feeling of Baldurs gate, loves 3+ edition of D&D, like the way a story was told graphicly in cutscenes by Kotor 1 and 2, then get this game.

Sure, it still has problems and technical issues, but it is much truer to 3.5 then NWN was true to 3 ed. The game is now not as munchkin friendly, and the atmosphere and dark catacoms are a bonus. That and the important feeling that you are no longer stuck in a cartoon as NWN's inventory screen suggested are great additions.

It sometimes feels a little over the top, I mean the country side is crawling with nefarious creatures, friendly tieflings and I guess "Drizztelina" will soon make an apperance, but hey, thats Faerun alright.

Read up on the technical things, make sure your computer is above the minimum specs, tweak and tween and play it.
