Whatever happened to the Bump? Were they banned or something? [img]tongue.gif[/img] When I first arrived at these forums everyother topic had a bump in it in the ever raging fight for the first page. Now, well I havent seen a bump in ages..... Hmmm... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

... I guess bumps are sorta frowned upon (if it's not for a good reason, still waiting for answer to ones question etc.).

As a general rule, no, you shouldn't go bumping lots of threads. Important messages get bumped or stickied, but other things only get bumped if a person has a reason to post on them. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Don't worry Stormy. Bump's not a dirty word, and you didn't post just to get the thread to the top of the page, but to ask a question.
Usually they are only frowned upon when old threads are brought back up for no appearant reason (other than that they might be funny).
The main idea is that we don't want to have inactive posts all over the place, and also that unless you've got something to say you shouldn't say something at all (in other words: no spamming).
But especially before the stickies worked bumping posts qould prove quite useful.
